The word of the God gives many
descriptive titles to this day. According to many believers, these titles
do not all pertain to the same day. Let us see what the Word says as the
oneness of these descriptive titles, and one specific event that is to
take place this day, that will involve not only the true born-again
believers, both the dead and the living, but the sinners as well, both the
dead and the living. The
Apostle Paul said in I Thess. 4:16, 17: "The dead in Christ shall
rise FIRST: THEN we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. This letter was written to the church and Paul, (a Jew)
included himself in the word "we." These two verses make it very
plain that the living saints are not going any place before the dead
saints are raised. (The resurrection of the just -
Luke 14:14: the FIRST resurrection -
Rev. 20:4, 5). Now we need to
see when the dead are raised. I Cor. 15:51-52 "Behold, I shew you a
mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, [52] In a
moment, in the
twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and
the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed."
(Rev.10:7) Jesus said in
John 5:28-29, "Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, IN THE
WHICH ALL that are in the graves shall hear his voice, [29] And shall come
forth; they that have done good, unto THE resurrection of life; and they
that have done evil, unto THE resurrection of damnation." Now we must know
the meaning of the word "hour." In the Greek dictionary the word
"hora" #5610 can mean day, hour, instant or season. In this
verse the word means day, and in II Pet. 3:8 and Rev. 20:4, 5, 11-15, we
find this to be a thousand year day. Rev. 20:5, 6, 12-15, also tells us
that the sinners will come forth at the end of the thousand years. This is the hour
in the which all will come forth (In 5:28, 29); so the saints will have to
come forth at the beginning of this hour/day and not before. Joel 2:30, 31,
and Acts 2:19, 20, tell of some events that must precede this day. "And this
is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given
me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again AT the LAST
DAY," John 6:39. Read verse 40, 44, 54. Martha said in 11:24, "I
know that he shall rise again in THE resurrection AT the last day."
(Luke 14:14; Rev. 20:4, 5) "After two
days will he revive us; IN the third day he will raise us up, and we shall
live in his sight," Hosea 6:2. So after two one- thousand-year days
from the physical birth of Jesus Christ by the Virgin Mary, and IN the
third one-thousand-year day he will raise us up. Perfect harmony with John
6:39, 40, 44, 54, 11:24: Rev. 20:5. This day is the
seventh day from the time of creation; the third day from the birth of
Christ; the last day; the day of rest -
Heb. 4:1-11; the day of God - for which we are told to
be looking and hastening unto the coming of the Lord -
I Thess. 5:2 (for which we are told to
watch, verse 6); the day of our Lord Jesus Christ -
I Cor. 1; 7, 8 (read Titus 2:13); the Day
of Judgment - Acts
17:31; the great and terrible day - Joel 2:30, 31. That day is a
day of wrath, a day of trouble, and distress, a day of waste and
desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds, and thick
darkness, A DAY OF THE TRUMPET-
Zeph. 1:15,16. "And it
shall come to pass IN THAT DAY, that THE GREAT TRUMPET shall be
blown." - Isa.
27:13. "For behold the Lord cometh out of his place (in this
day)." - Isa.
26:21 (read verses 19, 20, 21; Micah 1:3). This is the day of Rev.
6:14-17; it begins after the sixth seal is opened, and in verse 16, the
men in verse 15, "Said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and
hide us from him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of THE
LAMB."
Read Rev. 6:9-17 - the
fifth and sixth seals. For further description of the Lord coming out of
his place IN THAT DAY, read II Thess. 1:6-10. For further proof of the
oneness of the various descriptive titles given this day, let us look at
some of the names by which Jesus is called. "Behold, a
virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall
call his name Im-man’-uel, which being interpreted is God with us."
- Matt. 1:23 (Isa. 7:14) "For unto
us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be
upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The
Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isa. 9:6.
"For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also
which sleep in Jesus will God bring with HIM." 1 Thess. 4:14. "Looking
for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great GOD and our
SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST." Titus 2:13. "I and my
Father are one." John 10:30; 17:11, 22. "And Thomas answered and
said unto him, "My Lord and my God." John 20:28 "One
Lord, one faith, one baptism." Eph. 4:5. "In the beginning was
the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1. "For there
are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy
Ghost: and. these three are one." I John 5:7. These precepts
combined with many others have convinced me that all these descriptive
titles are given to describe the same day -
ONE-
just as the Father and Son are one.

COME
MY PEOPLE
When the Lord comes out of His place "with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel" (I Thess. 4:16) "at the last
trump" (I Cor. 15:52) He will say, "come my people". Isaiah
26:20. "And unto them that look for Him shall He
appear the second time without sin unto salvation." Heb. 9:28.
Salvation will be for these that are waiting and looking for Him, but
"every eye shall see Him." Rev. 1:7, "And the glory of the
Lord shall be revealed, and ALL flesh shall see it TOGETHER." Isa.
40:5. He is coming for a "GLORIOUS church, not
having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and
without blemish." Eph. 5:27. The church is His body (Col. 1:24) and is made
up of both Jews and Gentiles. "For by one Spirit are we ALL baptized
into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free;
and have been all made to drink into one Spirit." I Cor. 12:13God is no respecter of persons." Acts 10:34. The Gentiles were
"grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and
fatness of the olive tree." Rom. 11:17. For further understanding of
the oneness of the Jews and Gentiles, read Eph. 2:11-22.Gal. 3:26 "For ye are all
the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."V. 27 "For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have
put on Christ."V.
28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond, nor free,
there is neither male nor female: for ye are ALL one in Christ
Jesus." V. 29 "And if ye be
Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the
promise." "And the Lord said, My spirit shall not
always strive with man, for that he also is flesh." Gen. 6:3.Luke 17:28 "Likewise also as
it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they
sold, they planted, they builded;" V. 29 "But the same day that
Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and
destroyed them all."V.
30 "Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man shall be
revealed."This article was written in May 1992,
